Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball

Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball by Donita K. Paul was a good read. I enjoy reading books with a Christmassy theme this time of year. Cora Crowder found herself invited to a Wizards’ Christmas ball. Very little information could be found about this ball. Her co-worker Simon also was mysteriously invited to this puzzling event. Things were working out in a very strange manner that always seemed to put them together.

The basic story line was enjoyable but there several additions that I just didn’t find appealing. Cora’s family is a family that does not understand her new found faith, but the interaction between Cora and her sister was a little too much for this lighthearted book. While Cora’s family situation was not a good, Simon’s was the exact opposite. Perhaps a little too perfect.

I am not a person who enjoys reading about wizards and magic so that was unexpected and a little disappointing to me. It didn’t seem to fit well in a Christian novel.

The story line was fairly interesting. I wanted to know how it ended; it kept my attention. I felt as the ending left something to be desired. I still had questions about some things when I finish reading the book.

Overall, I enjoyed reading the book. I don’t know that I will want to read it again…maybe at Christmas some year. I probably will not recommend a friend read it.
